Les Gets and the wider Portes du Soleil area have become very popular destinations for walkers and hikers of all abilities. When the snow melts, the mountains really take on a life of their own: Old ski pistes turn into lush pastures, and countless flowers erupt into a palette of colour to create a stunning scene that can’t help but invigorate and inspire. Via ferrata
Via Ferrata is a great starting point for any aspiring rock climber. It’s an introduction to the sensations of rock climbing, but without the technical difficulty and with the added security of being permanently attached to specially placed iron rails throughout your ascent. There are various routes for different levels of difficulty. Courses located in nearby Avoriaz and Samoens, €40pp.

Horse riding
For any horse rider, there can be no better way to experience the beauty of the Alps, than on horseback. Take in the local scenery on a 2 or 3 hr trip.
