Summer events 2014

We’re looking forward to another great summer in Les Gets, and here’s a list of the main events you can look forward to:

Passportes du Soleil in Les GetsPass’Portes du Soleil | June 27th-29th

The season is always kick-started by the massive Pass’Portes du Soleil, the mountain biking marathon where about 6,000 riders over a period of 3 days take to the mountain passes for an unforgettable day’s riding. Subscriptions for the Les Gets and Morzine start points are now all filled, but there is still space in the chalet if you want to come along for the buzz of the MTB festival held in Les Gets this year, and ride the ‘unofficial’ PassPortes route.

Mechanical Music Festival | July 18th-20th

The biennial Mechanical Music Festival pulls a huge number of music enthusiasts and is a delightful display of mechanical music. Wonderful for children and interested adults, we love the festival and can’t wait for 3 days of barrel organs and other mechanical musical instruments we never even knew existed! We particularly loved this from last year!:

Lounge Festival | 28thJuly-2nd August

Wherever you walk in the streets of Les Gets you’ll hear Jazz, the Blues and Funk, being played on the sunny terraces of bars and restaurants in the day, and on the centre stage during the evening shows. A lovely festival that’s free to anyone who wants to listen.

Festival-of-4-elements in Les Gets4X4 Trial | 9th August
Watch as these mega machines blaze a trail through the forest in this annual race.

Festival of 4 Elements | 11th-17th August
An imaginative theme for this festival for all ages. Fire, wind, earth and water are celebrated in this week-long festival of interactive games for the whole family. There are all sorts of ‘experiments’ happening in the town centre where your children can get really involved, and organised fun and games up at Les Gets lake, where there’s a golf “pitch et plouf” (as in, plops into the water!), and other watery games.
